20 min
individual
presentation

Overview

The child uses the stamp game to perform subtraction, learning to "borrow" (exchange) when the minuend has fewer stamps in a category than the subtrahend. This mirrors the golden bead subtraction but in a more symbolic form, reinforcing place value and the concept of regrouping.

Objectives

What the child gains from this work

Perform subtraction using place value stamps. Master borrowing/exchanging across place values. Understand subtraction as "taking away" with concrete representation. Record problems accurately on paper. Develop systematic problem-solving approach.
