Overview
The short bead stair consists of 9 bars of beads (1-9) in different colors. The child builds the stair, names quantities by color, and uses it as a foundation for addition, multiplication, and memorization facts. Each color is consistently used for that quantity throughout the bead materials.
Objectives
What the child gains from this work
Associate each color with its quantity (red=2, green=3, etc.). Build the stair from 1 to 9 with precise alignment. Prepare for snake game, multiplication board, and finger charts. Develop visual and muscular memory of quantities 1-9. Strengthen fine motor control when handling bead bars.
