Stamp Game - Addition

20 min
individual
presentation

Overview

The stamp game uses colored stamps representing units (green), tens (blue), hundreds (red), and thousands (green) to perform addition with and without exchanging. It transitions the child from concrete golden beads to more abstract symbolic work while maintaining place value clarity.

Objectives

What the child gains from this work

Perform addition with place value stamps (no exchanging first). Learn exchanging (carrying) when a category exceeds 9. Strengthen understanding of hierarchical place value. Develop systematic recording of problems and answers. Bridge concrete materials to paper algorithms.
