Overview
The division board uses a grid, green unit beads, and skittles (representing the divisor) to show division as equal sharing. The child places skittles and distributes beads into cups or directly on the board to find the quotient and remainder. This concretely demonstrates division before moving to abstract algorithms.
Objectives
What the child gains from this work
Understand division as sharing equally among groups. Perform division with single and double-digit divisors. Identify quotient and remainder using the board. Develop systematic distribution of beads. Prepare for long division on paper.
