Overview
The child uses four touch boards with graded sandpaper strips (from very rough to very smooth) to refine the tactile sense. The child touches with light fingertips, naming the textures and pairing or grading them. This prepares for more advanced tactile work like fabric box.

Discriminate degrees of roughness and smoothness by touch. Develop light touch technique with fingertips. Build tactile vocabulary (rough, smooth, roughest, smoothest). Strengthen concentration on one sense. Prepare hand for sandpaper letters.
