Knobless Cylinders

15 min
individual
presentation

Overview

The child works with four sets of 10 knobless cylinders that vary in height and diameter without knobs. This builds on the knobbed cylinders by requiring a different grip and more precise visual discrimination without the knob as a handle. The child must use pincer grip to lift and place each cylinder.

Objectives

What the child gains from this work

Refine visual discrimination of dimension without knobs. Develop pincer grip for small object handling. Strengthen concentration with increased challenge. Experience control of error through fit of cylinders. Prepare for more abstract grading activities.
