Overview
The child lifts and compares wooden tablets of equal size but different weights (light, medium, heavy) to pair them by baric sense (sense of weight). The child uses a specific technique of holding the tablet on the palm to feel the pressure.
Objectives
What the child gains from this work
Discriminate three degrees of weight. Develop awareness of muscle effort for different weights. Pair tablets by weight alone. Refine the baric sense. Build vocabulary: heavy, light, heavier, lighter.
