Sentence Building - Moveable Alphabet

25 min
individual
presentation

Overview

The child uses the movable alphabet to build simple sentences from spoken prompts or picture cards. This separates the intellectual task of composing sentences from the physical act of handwriting, allowing focus on word order, spacing, and punctuation. It builds directly on phonetic word building.

Objectives

What the child gains from this work

Compose simple sentences using known phonetic and puzzle words. Understand basic sentence structure (capital letter, spacing, period). Develop creative expression through sentence making. Strengthen encoding and word spacing skills. Prepare for handwriting sentences and creative writing.
