individual
presentation

Overview

The child learns to safely cut a banana into slices using a child-sized knife, then serves the pieces on a plate. This introduces food preparation, knife safety, and sharing. The soft texture of banana makes it an ideal first cutting activity.

Objectives

What the child gains from this work

Use a knife with safe, controlled downward motion. Develop hand strength and precision for cutting. Practice sequencing (peel, cut, serve, clean). Experience contribution by preparing food for others. Build confidence in kitchen skills.
